Selling Art at Markets: A Dream Come True in Brighton
Share
Not long ago, I finally began this self project in a serious way, carrying with it my teenage dream. I feel endlessly grateful — it’s surreal, almost magical — to know there are people who choose to support my journey as an independent artist, even when meeting me for the very first time at the craft markets in Brighton.
NGL, selling art at markets as my first offline presence had me nervous and anxious — What if people just walked away? What if they thought my art unworthy? What if I just stood there all day, how embarrassing would that be? These devilish thoughts followed me the whole week before it started. And yes… some of those fears really did happen.
But what mattered most were the moments — when someone’s face lit up with a smile at my art, when I caught a soft little “AWWWW” or “So cute” whispered under their breath, when they stopped by my stall and took a slow, curious glimpse through my work. Those are the moments that stay with me.
And the undeniably magical moment was when someone asked, “Can I buy this?” — “Of course! Do you need a bag?”

Magic really does happen when we step out of our comfort zone, with so much force from the heart. And thank you, Brighton — it’s where my magic happened.
